For faculty and staff

Put your department’s LaTeX template on LetX

Send us your university’s thesis, report or slide template. We publish it in the LetX gallery next to 1000+ others, with your department named as its author, and your students start from it in one click, with nothing to install. Free, for the department and for students.

Credited to your department

The template page names your department as its author and keeps the licence it came with.

One click for students

Students open it as their own project and compile at once, on their laptop or a lab computer.

Kept up to date

We check it builds before it goes live. Send a new version whenever the rules change and it replaces the old one.

How does it work?

  1. Send the template with the form below: a link to it, or the files by email to support@letx.app.
  2. We check that it builds on LetX and that it is yours to share.
  3. We publish it in the university templates and send you its address, within 7 days of receiving it.
  4. Give that address to your students, or put it on the department’s thesis page.

Already on LetX? Verified faculty and staff can publish straight from a project: choose Publish as a template in the project’s menu on your projects page. Verify your university role on the Students page first.

A department that wants every student on Pro can do that with an Institution plan: students join with their university email address.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get my university’s LaTeX template onto LetX?

Send it with the form on this page: a link to the template (Overleaf, GitHub or a shared folder) or the files by email. We check that it builds, publish it in the LetX template gallery with your department named as its author, and send you the link within 7 days of receiving it, usually sooner.

Can I publish a template from inside LetX?

Yes, if you are faculty or staff and have verified your university role on LetX, on the Students page. Once the project compiles, choose Publish as a template in its menu on your projects page. We check it within 7 days, usually sooner, and email you when it is live in the gallery, credited to your department.

Is it free?

Yes, for the department and for students. Every template in the gallery is free on every LetX plan, including Free.

Who can send a template?

Faculty and staff, or a student who has the department’s permission. Send a template the department publishes or one you wrote, and keep the licence it already has.

Can we update the template or take it down?

Yes. Send a new version whenever the department changes its rules and we replace it at the same address. Ask us to remove it and it comes down.

Can a department put every student on LetX Pro?

Yes, with an Institution plan: students join with their university email address. Talk to us from the pricing page.
