Is there a free plan?
Yes. LetX is free forever. The free plan includes unlimited collaborators, 40 compiles per day, your last 15 versions of history, every template, and the full real-time editor. No credit card required.
What does LetX Pro include?
Pro removes the limits: unlimited daily compiles, full version history, priority compile queue, GitHub import/export, and a monthly Lexi AI allowance. Pro is $18/month or $180/year (two months free). Academic Pro is half that, $9/month or $90/year, for verified students, faculty and university staff. See the academic pricing page to apply.
How do I subscribe to Pro?
Click Upgrade to Pro and pay by card. Checkout is handled by LemonSqueezy, the merchant of record for letX, which collects and remits any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies where you live. Prices here are shown before tax, so depending on your country or state the total at checkout can be a little higher than the figure on this page. Your plan is active immediately and you can cancel any time from Plan and billing. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Can I get Pro for free?
Students, faculty and university staff pay half price on an academic plan, verified with a current transcript or a student or staff ID. The Researcher & Builder Access Program is closed to new applications.
Do extra collaborators cost more?
No. Unlimited collaborators are included on every plan, including Free. You are never charged per seat for inviting co-authors.
Can I use letX from Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes, over MCP, on any paid plan. You connect letX once and the assistant can search templates, create a project, edit its files and compile it on letX’s TeX Live farm without leaving the chat. It signs in with OAuth, so the client never sees your password.
How do Classroom / University packs work?
You get a shared team workspace with an admin console: invite members by email (or in bulk), assign roles (admin, member, viewer), and grant Pro seats. Each seated member gets unlimited compiles, full history and GitHub on the workspace. An activity log tracks every change. Seats are set up manually for now. Use the Contact us button on this page and we will provision your pack.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. You can sign up and use LetX free with no credit card. Pro is optional and only needed once you want unlimited compiles, full history, or AI features.
