From people using these

“LetX is essential for group work. Real-time compiling, a huge template library, and several of us editing at once are what I needed and could not find elsewhere.”
Monowar Husain OmiStudent, BRAC University, Bangladesh
“I have only just started, and the number of templates for documentation is mind blowing. The Beamer slides especially. I never knew Beamer could look this beautiful.”
Mayur PandyaResearcher, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, India

Shared with permission by researchers and students on the LetX researcher programme. Lightly edited for spelling and grammar, never for meaning.

Questions

How do I use the Metropolis Beamer theme?

Open the Metropolis template here and it compiles as it stands. The theme and the fonts it needs are already installed, which is the step that usually fails on a fresh local TeX install. From there you change the title frame and add your own.

Can I present the slides without leaving the browser?

Yes. The compiled deck opens full screen in the letX PDF viewer, so you can present straight from the project rather than downloading the PDF first.

Can I turn an existing paper into slides?

Yes. That is what /slides does in the letX editor. It reads the paper in your project and drafts a Beamer deck from its structure, which you then edit. A thesis defence usually needs the same treatment plus a results section you build by hand.
