I get "Undefined control sequence \toprule" with cas-dc, how do I fix it?
The Elsevier CAS sample tables use booktabs rules (\toprule, \midrule, \bottomrule), but the booktabs package must be loaded in your preamble: add \usepackage{booktabs}. If it still fails, your local TeX installation is missing booktabs. On LetX the full TeX Live is preinstalled, so the template compiles without extra setup.
What is the difference between cas-sc and cas-dc?
They are the two layouts of the Elsevier CAS (Complex Article Suite) class: cas-sc.cls is single-column and cas-dc.cls is double-column. Check the journal’s Guide for Authors, single-column (cas-sc) is often requested for review, while double-column (cas-dc) matches most final published layouts.
Does the Elsevier cas-dc template work with pdfLaTeX?
